American Airlines is one of the largest airlines of the United States, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, close to the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The airline is a subsidiary of the AMR Corporation. The company is also one the world's largest air carriers in terms of passenger fleet size, operating revenues and passenger miles transported. American Airlines maintains a network of scheduled flights throughout the United States and international flights to Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, India, China and Japan. In year 2005, the airline provided about 138 billion RPM (revenue passenger miles). American Airlines has maintenance centres at Fort Worth, Kansas City and Tulsa. The company is a member of the Oneworld airline alliance.
